Welcome to Craven Community Land Trust!

Craven Community Land Trust is a new Community Benefit Society, set up to provide permanently affordable housing for individuals and couples in the Craven area.

Our aim is to build and acquire homes for rent at an affordable rate, for those living, working, or connected Craven, who would otherwise be priced out of the local area. As a rural tourist hotspot, much of which is in a National Park, the growing market for second homes, holiday lets, and retirement properties has pushed both house prices far beyond what is achievable for the average earner in the Craven area, and residential lets are few and far between. We aim to bridge that gap with properties for rent at a genuinely affordable rate, according to local earnings, asset-locked in perpetuity to keep them in community ownership and provide long-term security for tenants.

Craven Community Land Trust is a Community Benefit Society, a not-for-profit organisation run by a board of trustees. Anyone over the age of sixteen is eligible for CCLT membership: see our get involved page for details.
